Bowls with Borders Blog Hop

Hello..Hi there..

Welcome to my blog for the 5th day of blog hop for Bowls with Borders hosted by our dearest cheerleader / host Carol and Madam Samm.

The paper piecing foundation pattern was provided by the talented Regina Grewe.

So before we come to my Bowls, lets give a big cheer to our host and pattern maker ! Congratulation for this great lovely blog hop!

My story begins now :

I had fun piecing. I have done a bit of paper piecing before, but since I am new in this world of patchwork and quilting, I have not much experience in this. So it was great joining this blog hop. I get to practice a lot of paper-piecing, free-motion quilting and binding.

So here it is :

Mini Quilt - I just want to hang these bowls.

had fun quilting. I love the back of this bowls too. they look cute. (P.S : I was playing with different weight thread - explaining why the red one is a bit thicker - hm, I don't like it much.)

And then, I thought of something ....

I love using bowls when I bake. I set all my ingredients in bowls beforehand and set them on the table. Baking do need a bit of organization - otherwise mine turns out bad.. hehe..
And one thing I love to bake is FRENCH MACARON! Have you ever made some? They are sweet ... and lovely! That's why I love making them.. so... with that, I thought, why not I make a table runner with the ingredients for French Macaron in this lovely bowls with borders....

Caster Sugar

So here it is in full!
The other two bowls are icing sugar and almond meal.

Mess
I had fun making this! But there are times like this....

Oops..

when I hate it.. hehe.. I still need to practice more getting the angles right. I think I get it a bit now..after all that piecing..

Well, what do you think? Want to make some Macaron ? Here is the recipe I always use :

80g White Eggs
80g Caster Sugar

100g Almond Meal
100g Pure Icing Sugar.

Beat the white eggs and caster sugar till stiff peak. Fold in sifted almond meal + icing sugar just until it is not too runny yet so easily piped. Put in powder colouring if you want at this stage. Pipe it. Leave it to dry. Bake at 150 degrees Celcius for 12 minutes. Its fun!

and here is the photo of my Macaron in the making.

Wait.... not finish yet... I have another one... staying up on my design wall now. Let it sit there for a while.. I like the look of it.. Not sure what it'll become..maybe a placemat..hm....
